Ruptured: Plot Summary

Plot:

It all starts with a nosebleed. Soon your ears are wet with blood. Not long after your whole face is bleeding. By the time that happens you're a goner.

When the town of Sugar Hill, New Hampshire experiences a plague of unexplained deaths it is up to Sheriff Addis to save his town from drowning in its own blood. At first, he deems these events nothing more than a coincidence, but when his own daughter starts losing blood Charlie Addis realizes that there is something far stranger afoot. It is a race against time for this newly appointed sheriff to close the case before the only family he has left is dead. During his investigation, he comes across an observant waitress whose customers are dwindling by the day, a suspiciously skeptical deputy, and a woodland kook who lives on the outskirts of town near a classified factory. The waitress, named Darla, notices that even though more and more trucks are passing through town, she is serving fewer and fewer customers. Charlie's deputy, Mark seems to always have an explanation no matter how strange thing get. The mysterious old man in his secluded wood cabin has watched all his family die and seen himself go insane. He believes that it is all due to what goes on in the walls of that factory.

As things progress, Charlie's daughter, Ana, is just barely clinging to life. After countless hours of research and multiple attempts to get into the factory legally, his only option is to go in guns blazing. He finally makes his way inside, where he sees that the factory is an experimental chemical weapons facility and that these weapons have been secretly been tested out on the town of Sugar Hill. Charlie is cornered by multiple guards when his deputy takes them out and rescues him, only it wasn't out of the kindness of his heart. A man in a white coat then introduces himself as Dr. Blake the head of the facility. He has a proposition for Charlie, the same proposition his deputy was given years ago. He can either attempt an escape and die trying, or he will give him the antidote for the chemicals that are killing his daughter in exchange for Charlie maintaining the factories secrecy. Charlie takes the cure and leaves the facility to go and cure his daughter. She ultimately gets better and the movie ends with the Sherriff's Department getting a radio call that there has been another bloody death and Charlie ignoring the call at first. The movie cuts to black as he reaches for the radio.

The target audience of these books is children with reading skills from preschool all the way up to fifth grade. The owl is known to represent wisdom, and our company would like to instill wisdom in our young readers. In our brand design, we would like a baby owl to be featured in some sense. Other than that, all other design elements are up to the designer.
