How To Ruin A Great Design

There are plenty of ways to mess up a great design. While I agree with Alice Rawsthorn's article on how such mistakes are made, I think she neglected to mention how to avoid making these mistakes. I would say that the way to prevent such a travesty from happening is simple. Make everything have a meaning. Don't put anything into a design if it doesn't help solve the proposed problem. This goes for creating new designs as well as updating old ones. Every element in a design should have a function that is necessary. The context of the design should be apparent without someone needing to explain it.

Owlet Publishing

Owlet Publishing is a publisher of children's books. Through our stories, we promote logical and critical thinking skills in children. The target audience of these books is children with reading skills from preschool all the way up to fifth grade. Through our brand, we would also create a feeling of trust, not only with children but with parents as well. The term "Owlet" in our name is the name for a baby owl. The owl is known to represent wisdom, and our company would like to instill wisdom in our young readers. In our brand design, we would like a baby owl to be featured in some sense. Other than that, all other design elements are up to the designer.
